Information & Referral

The Need for Information & Referral

  • Living Independently in the community may require different resources like housing assistance, etc.
  • CIL’s assist consumers by providing referrals to community partners that have those resources.
  • One of the most valuable services for the community; knowing where to go to get help isn’t always common knowledge.

The Solution

ARCIL provides information and referral for consumers, family members, advocates, agencies, and interested parties about agencies, services, and issues concerning persons with disabilities and conducts follow-up evaluations of the services received. The I&R department maintains a continually growing database of contacts and services available to persons with disabilities, including but not limited to:

  • Community-based support
  • Consumer organizations
  • Emergency services
  • Equipment
  • Housing
  • Transportation

ARCIL also conducts classroom instruction about community support services and resources and does outreach to inform the community and consumers about ARCIL and its services, provides technical support and in-service training on community resources to staff, consumers, families, and professionals.
